But, if you can’t find a good deal, there could be some risks of bad after-purchase servicing.
We are not saying that you should stay away from the aftermarket seats and rather choose to spend more on the official ones.

Usually, when a seat gets old, it loses its foam capacity, reducing the airflow in the process. And the consequence of this can be felt with an increase of heat on the seat.
The heat from the rider’s body can’t pass through the seat’s foam because of its volume reduction. As a result, the seat gets sticky with sweat.
Some people like to use talcum powders to reduce body sweat. In fact, there are some specially made powders that have sweat-reducing chemical compounds in them that can work very well.
If you like, you can use powders to reduce sweating from the seat heat. It won’t work 100%, but something is better than nothing.
Also, clothing plays a big role here. What you wear can have a direct impact on how warm you feel. If you wear tight pants, the heat can get trapped on the bottom and increase sweating. That, in turn, will make the seat wet and uncomfortable to sit on.
Choose thin clothing and something that’s loose. It’ll not only help heat dissipation out of the pants easily but also get you more airflow inside the pants. Consider this method as an indirect way to make seats less messy.
3. Letting the Foam Rest
A property of foam is that it’ll be compact when there’s pressure on it and will come back to its fullest shape when the pressure is relieved.
This ability of the foam has made itself one of the most highly used materials. It can do the compact to full-size rotation thousands of times without losing its original shape.
But as the foam starts to get more time pressed down and less time to its fullest, it keeps losing its ability to hold its shape up. With more and more use, it starts losing up its volume and gets thinner slowly. And a thin foam is super uncomfortable.
What’s the solution then? If you only ride your bike occasionally, then this issue should not come until the foam has aged a lot. But what if you ride on a daily basis? How to cut that?
One solution could be to take some intervals in between the riding times. Suppose your ride is going to be a long one. Try to take some breaks in between to let the seat foam rest for some time.
Once the foam stays in its normal shape, sit on it again. The breaks will help the foam regain its natural shape for a longer time.
Or maybe you can slightly change your seating points. Moving a little in the front or the back can let you alternate between the seat points, allowing the foam to stay in its resting position for some time.

4. Pant Padding
Have you noticed MotoGP riders wearing thick, padded pants, shorts, and padded knee and foot covers? That same thing is quite popular with bike riders. Padded pants can give you a similar feeling to that of the seat paddings.
These can keep your buttock muscles from getting exhausted even after long rides. They’re quite tight, and some people might not like them.
Chances are, you’re not feeling much comfortable in them too. They kind of feel like they’re sticking to your body. But the padding is well done and can let you relax your muscles.
5. Padded Seat
One of the cheapest and most available options is this padded seating system. The pads can be made of air or fluids. Both are fine, with some differences.
Seat padding can be considered a way to add an extra layer of padding on top of the bike’s seat. The padding is made of air cushioning and can give you almost the same feeling as foam.
On the other hand, fluid or gel pads are a little different from air pads. Both feel basically the same. You won’t notice any significant difference while riding with any of these. But with fluid pads, when you move, the fluid moves from one side to the other.
While you ride, you’ll notice the seat’s composition changing for the fluid’s movement. When you park your bike, the seat fluids will gather on the side and look a little weird.
Other than these, gel or fluid-based seat paddings have no issues in terms of sitting comfort.
We’ve talked about comfort; let’s talk a little about breathability or airflow. You’ll get a good amount of it with air pads. They’re made in a way that allows good, unrestricted airflow.
On the other hand, gel pads aren’t like them. The gel is thick and doesn’t offer any breathability. So, the feeling of sitting on them is going to be quite different.
To simply explain, air pads can do well in providing comfort as well as proper airflow in the bottom. But air gels can only get you comfort and may make the seat a little heated up. That’s basically the main difference.
